World shaker by Richard Harland

This is a new book which will be available for loan soon. It is set in a alternate past, on a huge mobile city called Worldshaker. The hero Col lives in the upper part of this very class conscious society, and comes into contact with its very lowest social members, the ‘filthies’. There is lots of action, and adventure and I found it very enjoyable. I would recommend it.

Vulture’s Gate by Kirsty Murray

An interesting  story set in a bleak future Australia. It has lots of action and interesting characters. Well worth a read.

The hunger games: catching fire by Suzanne Collins

You need to read the first in this series, but this second book develops the ideas and continues the action from the first book. Another exciting read!

What I saw and how I lied by Judy Blundell

Set in post WWII America, this is a story of a young girl, her first love and family secrets. Relationships are tested and changed forever by events, truths and lies. A well told and interesting story.
